TravelRight offer free travel planning surgeries for job seekers and new starters. Our surgeries are run from local Jobcentre Plus offices and you’ll find us at many job clubs and job fairs. We can help you get the quickest and cheapest trips available, just talk to one of our friendly advisers to receive free travel planning advice.
Job seeker Citycard Cycle – 1 year bike hire scheme for job seekers
If you’re a job seeker you can also get a long-term hire of a fully maintained Citycard Cycle – including lights and a lock – for 1 year for £50, which is discounted from £150.

Free 1 month travel pass for new starters (until 31st March 2015)
People who have just received a job offer or have just started a new job, apprenticeship or training course may be eligible for a free 1 month Kangaroo pass or Trent Barton bus pass.
Kangaroo passes give you unlimited travel on all buses, trams and trains as well as Citycard Cycle hire within the Nottingham City area for your first month so you won’t need to worry about travel costs before you get your first pay-cheque your first pay day.
In order to apply your workplace must be outside of walking distance from your home and you will need to show you have an offer of employment, anapprenticeship or training. for 16 or more hours per week with a minimum 3 month contract. Contact us for more details.

Free cycle training courses (includes free bike loan*)
Free cycle training is available for people living in many parts of Nottingham. Nottingham City, and Broxtowe and Gedling Boroughs. . Our training is led by RideWise cycle instructors, who can help people of all abilities – from beginners learning the basics through to people who have not cycled for some time and who need to refresh their skills. The training is a great way to build your confidence and skills if you’re thinking of using a bike to reach new jobs.

*People who take the cycle training lessons are also eligible for a free 3 month Citycard cycle loan. You need to pay a deposit for the bike which is refunded when the bike is returned; terms and conditions apply.
On securing a position in employment, training or apprenticeship, as an alternative to one month’s free travel, you may be eligible for a free bicycle with helmet, lights and bike lock. Contact us for further details.
Free bike maintenance courses
Free bike maintenance courses are also available for those interested in learning introductory mechanics skills. This is useful if you want to add more skills to your CV when applying for jobs, or simply because you want to learn how to fix your bike if you have a problem far from home.
